It’s been a while since I’ve written on here. I’ve been so swamped with school and work, I’ve barely had a chance to do anything except work and school. However, Spring semester is coming to an end and that means I’ll have more time to write. I’m very excited. I’m planning my summer out. I’ll have various topics to discuss on my blog and events I’m attending. I’m attending The Rolling Loud festival in May and spending the 4th Of July in Dallas, Texas.
Also, ya girl turned the big 2-3. I turned 23 years old on April 21. I actually didn’t do anything since I worked that morning and then I went home and crashed. Definitely not the way I wanted to spend my birthday, especially since it was on a Saturday; but whatever. No big deal. I made it to 23 and that’s the most important part.
Talk to everyone soon.
I had the best time acting as an escort for Celebrity Connected. I volunteered for this event through indeed, and my job was to act as an escort for celebrities and their entourage. My goal for the night was to introduce each celebrity to the photographers and introduce the celebrities to different companies they were interested in. A few celebrities we helped along the way were David Allen Grier, Mehgan James, Shannon Elizabeth, Miss J Alexander, and countless others.
There were so many companies gifting celebrities and their entourage that night. From makeup companies to marijuana companies advertising edibles. There was a full selection. The event lasted about six hours and the escorts were able to take home a few things after the event. I walked away with a crab game, lipstick, a box of cookies, and a few other things. Definitely a step in the direction of the field I want to work in.
I can’t wait to further work with this company. So much fun and helpful employees that were more than willing to answer questions and let us shadow them if need be.
Technically, I’ve been a pescatarian since Jan. 06,2018 and Feb. 06, 2018 was my one month anniversary. It’s actually been pretty easy since cutting out meat. I don’t miss it at all, and I’m not even eating a lot of meat substitutes or seafood. Thus far, I’ve eaten fish, shrimp, and sofrita, which I guess is actually tofu. I’m quite sure. Some things I’ve learned so far on my meatless journey:
- Just because you cut out meat, doesn’t mean you have to load up on dairy and bread. Definitely a mistake of mines. I started eating cheese like crazy and more bread than I should have. Luckily, I haven’t gained any weight.
- You can lose weight. My first week cutting out meat, I lost 4 pounds. It might seem like no big deal, but that was me not working out or following a strict diet plan.
- People will not believe you when you say you don’t eat meat. I went out to a restaurant and asked what was the best meatless dish on the menu. Instead of offering some sort of seafood or vegetarian option, the waitress mentioned a dish with chicken. No, sis.
- Lastly, enjoy this moment. You’ll feel lighter and you’ll feel better. Enjoy this moment because it’ll fade as soon as your body is used to not intaking meat. Lol.
Hey everyone, BIG NEWS!
I’m now a Pescatarian.
Definition of a Pescatarian:
a person who does not eat meat but does eat fish.
That’s right. I no longer eat any type of meat and it feels amazing! Surprisingly, It wasn’t hard by far. Just an fyi, I stopped eating red meat about 5-6 years ago and I don’t miss it. It’s only been a little over a week since I stopped eating white meat, but so far so good. I don’t see myself going back to eating meat anytime soon.
I’m proud of myself. I feel as though if you can tackle what you eat, you can tackle anything. I don’t plan on eating a lot of meat substitutes such as tofu but I don’t see myself eating a lot of seafood either. Just more veggies and fruit.
Today is January 3rd, 2018. Day 3 of the year. I’m so grateful to have made it to see another year. Plus, I turn 23 this year. My Jordan year!
I have a few goals I want to accomplish this year. Some small, some big. All attainable, just have to put forth the effort.
My Goals for 2018:
- Lose Weight
- Travel to Houston, Texas
- Travel outside of the country
- Improve my GPA
The goals I decided to share with the world aren’t too personal but encouraging enough to make an impact.
I feel like every year we(the public) make the resolution to lose weight, but I’m determined to accomplish my goal this year and pretty fast if I can help it. I’m going to lose at least 20 pounds by my birthday in April. As for my traveling goals, I’m having a bout of wanderlust. I’ve had this feeling for a while and my trip to Miami last year just fueled the flame to travel. Even if it’s in my country. Lastly, my goal to improve my GPA is very important to me. It’s almost time for me to transfer and it’s important that I raise it as high as I can to improve my ability to transfer to a good school.
Ah! 3rd times the charm, Am I right?
Hey, its Essence. Back at it again with this blogging thing. I continuously get side tracked when it comes to my blog. You’d think I’d be more focused since my blog it a part of my future career, yet here I am, continuously reintroducing myself.
With 2018 only days away, It’s time I stop putting my blog on the back burner. I want to generate more posts with greater quality, gain new readers, and stop disappointing my old ones. Besides my own laziness, life has hit me pretty hard. Between concentrating on school, on another job hunt, and dealing with my HS(Hidradenitis Suppurativa) disease, my life hasn’t been a total walk in the park. However, I can’t let that stop me. I’m going to push further, reach my goals, and make myself proud.
If you want to keep up, follow me on my social media sites.

Okay, this post is going to sound totally vain and probably ridiculous, but this is how I feel and I know I’m not the only one that can relate.
Being fat during the Summer months is pure hell.
Now, being overweight isn’t the best feeling in general, but it’s something about these summer months, June-September, that makes it even more uncomfortable than it usually is. Being overweight plus living in this California heat is hard work.
P.S. I’m totally letting down London Tipton.
